Now that the school year has started and is well on its way, it is time to start training our future, today’s young athletes!
This last week, the newly created Obstacle Course Racing Club had 2 successful workouts, one superhero workout (The Flash Workout), and one weight training circuit with multiple options. For most of the students in the group (middle school aged), this was there first time ever working out to this intensity (outside of their P.E. classes), and yet they did not give up.
Additionally, the cross country team has also started up, so my club gets the best of both worlds, strength training, and cardio.
Tomorrow we will continue to train with another superhero workout and will continue to strengthen our bodies for our first club race, the SF Giant Race presented by Alaska Airlines at the Giants Stadium. Both the students and I are excited and cannot wait for this race, and other future dates! (https://raceroster.com/events/2018/14977/san-francisco-giant-race-presented-by-alaska-airlines)
On top of all of this, I have also gone ahead and purchased additional workout equipment for our school sites limited weight room and have even created 2 DonorsChoose projects requesting: additional workout equipment and water packs for our big races. (https://www.donorschoose.org/daniel.lopez)
I hope it all works outs for the club this year. Until the next entry, remember to never give up and push yourselves each and every day.
