Race: Rugged Maniac Sacramento!

I am going to begin by saying this race was extremely enjoyable for my whole middle school OCR team! For many of them, it was their first time ever doing an obstacle course race, and thus it was that much more meaningful; especially after several early morning weeks of intense cardio training and weightlifting to prepare them all for this RUGGED MANIAC!

The Murieta Equestrian Center was a perfect venue! Parking was a cinch with no issues, registration was a breeze, and the course itself was well organized and planned. The obstacles were spaced out perfectly, and the students loved the final obstacle, the Accelerator 3.0, which zooms you down a super high/steep inflatable water slide! Images cannot do this slide any justice, it has to be experienced; once you are up there, you realise how high you are and the experience is that much more intense!

The OCR team is now super excited for future obstacle races and is ready for more!

This race is fun for everyone, the whole family and all your friends; I would recommend this one to anyone who wants to just have a good time with all their close ones. It is not too challenging compared to other races, but challenging enough to give you a good workout and a lot of laughs as you are bouncing, crawling, and climbing through the obstacles! Oh and there is more than just the race itself, there are fun activities around the venue to keep everyone having a good time throughout the day, so as soon as you finish running, get out there and bust a move to the party at the finish line!

Now that this one is down, we, the OCR team and I, continue training for next weeks Red Ribbon 5K Run in Hollister, California, and the many more upcoming events we have on our schedule (Spartans, Terrain Racing events, more 5K’s, and much, much more)!

Until the next entry, remember to never give up and push yourselves each and every day!
