Race: San Francisco AT&T Park Spartan Stadium Sprint!

Another excellent race down with my team of young OCR athletes! The San Francisco AT&T Park Spartan Stadium (December 1st, 2018) was an amazing experience for these kids. Not only did they push each other individually, but they worked hard to accomplish obstacles as a team, and encouraged one another through the whole experience. As a coach, I was quite proud of each and everyone one of them.

As always, this Spartan race was well organized and everything went smoothly. Parking was much each easier to deal with than what I was expecting, and the prices were reasonable at $15. Getting in wasn’t too chaotic, but I did have five teenagers, so it wasn’t as smooth as it would have been for just myself…as for everything after that, well let’s just say my racers could not wait to see what was next! I had a team of eager beavers who could not stop for very long, but luckily we raced through the whole event quite smoothly.

In the end, all seven girls and I finished at about 1:03:30 with about a second variation on each of the racers, which is pretty darn good if you ask me.

I hope to continue to take them to more Spartans races, but they are pricey for first-time racers, and a little more intense than other races, like the Rugged Maniacs or Terrain Racing events (which are normally under $50).

All in all, I would have to say though, that this was quite a success. Happy kids, happy coach, perfect weather (it had rained all week and earlier that morning, but stopped right in time for us), and an all-around good time.

Now that this race is down, my team and I get back to training for more races before 2018 comes to an end!!! The kids have one more Christmas themed race (The Double Double X-Mas Themed Race) in two weeks and I still have one more Spartan next weekend, so its back to training for us!

Until the next entry, remember to never give up and push yourselves each and every day!
